Adliya Square -Abdulla AlBazzaz
Abdulla is an enthusiastic senior architecture student at the University of Bahrain with an interest in documentation, urban design, and human behavior.
Ever since Abdulla was young, architecture was his passion. Creating buildings that respect, respond, and represent their site and users is a priority for me, Abdulla always thrives on success and exploring new opportunities.
Task: Section of Block 338, Manama
Block 338 in Manama is popular spot for both locals and tourists. The area is vibrant and contains many restaurants and cafes, however, the lack of car parking and narrow roads hinders the area and creates heavy congestion.
Abdulla AlBazzaz was tasked to transform the area to be less car-centric, and to make the area an asset to the surrounding establishments.
Intervention:
Abdulla AlBazzaz achieved his task by designing a public park on the surface of the proposal with an open-air theater and some commercial space. The biggest asset of the proposal is an underground car park that would be hidden from the surface to improve the area aesthetically.
